Ivan Reitman (innate October 27, 1946, Komárno) is a Slovak-born, Canadian-raised Jewish film producer and director. He is virtually all remembered for directing & producing the string of comedies, mostly in the 1980s and 90s.
Reitman worked in the total of films fallowing graduating from either McMaster University, but his large break come while he produced ''National Lampoon's Animal House in 1978 and directed Meatballs in 1979. From either there, he directed & produced the total of comedies including Stripes (1981), Ghostbusters (1984), Twins (1988), Ghostbusters II (1989), Kindergarten Cop (1990), Dave (1993) and Junior (1994). He produced a animated film Heavy Metal in 1981.
In the early Nineties, Reitman began to direct fewer films, however increased his role as a producer & executive producer. He helped to make Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (1983), Beethoven (1992), Beethoven's 2nd (1993), Space Jam (1996), Private Parts (1997), Road Trip (2000), Evolution (2001), which he also directed, Old School (2003) and Eurotrip (2004).
Reitman was working in the remaking of The Pink Panther'' in 2005 but backed out.
Trivia
Reitman's number one producing job was using so-brand recently station CITY-TV in Toronto. CITY as well was too a front yard of the foremost announcing job of his late friend & collaborator Dan Aykroyd. Even so, Reitman's tenure at CITY was short & he was fired when you took his 1st season by station creator Moses Znaimer.
Reitman currently works at the Montecito Picture Company, a film production company placed upright south of Santa Barbara.
Ivan's next film is entitled Very-Ex starring Uma Thurman & Luke Wilson.
